Barcode Artwork Test
We have a new service where we can test your barcode artwork, to give you an idea of whether it will scan well.
This is not an official Barcode Verification Report (which costs US$59) as required by some Supermarket and Hardware chains. But is a test using the same equipment and giving the same information.
This test will be done on your artwork so you can have more confidence about the quality of the barcode before you go to print or it will tell you what problems there are with the barcode artwork.
To do this test, please purchase the quantity you require (Br350 each), and then email a pdf of the barcode artwork to us. The pdf must be A4 or smaller in size, and 100%. We will print it on a laser printer in B&W (so it won’t test any other print colours) and test it, then email the report to you.
You can view some sample reports below. Grades vary from A (excellent) to C (OK) to D & below which are fails.

Barcode Registration
Purchase Registration (for an EAN-13 or UPC-A barcode number that you already own) below. You will be able to register your barcode on the International Barcodes Database (product information submitted to that database will also get submitted to several other main online barcode databases). After we receive your order we’ll email you a request for proof of barcode ownership. When we receive proof that you are the owner of your barcode number we will give you instructions for how to register your barcode.

Barcode Verification
Barcode verification is a test scan of the barcode as it will be printed on the product packaging. These tests are done on a technical scanning machine that measures how easily and accurately the barcode is likely to scan in a variety of different environments. The report will either come back with a Pass grade (A, B, C or D) or a Fail grade (in which case reasons will be given for the failure).
Some retailers require that all barcodes going into their stores have verification reports done on them first. This ensures that all of the barcodes in their stores scan easily to avoid missed scans and save check-out time. You can get an idea of what stores require verification here. – Verification reports are required by some larger retailers. Often supermarket chains require these.
Our verification reports are done to an internationally accepted standard with the best verification technology. To properly adhere to these standards, we require that you send us a sample of your barcode on its product packaging as it will be printed. Reports take 2-3 days to complete once we receive your packaging, so please allow for this time in addition to the time it will take your packaging to reach us. You can find our address here.
Once we receive your order, we will contact you regarding verifying your barcode. This will normally take 2-24 hours, depending on the time of day/week that you make the order. Our normal office hours are 7am-7pm Mon-Fri (NZ time), plus we process some orders on Saturday whenever possible.

Verification Report
Verification report for your completed artwork. This should be printed and sent to us so that we can do the verification report for the barcode as it will be finally printed (or as close as possible)

Just over 10% of the verification reports that we do fail. This is usually due to simple common mistakes with the dimensions of the barcode. If you need a barcode verification report, please ensure that your barcode adheres to the Standard Barcode Dimensions. The barcode must adhere to this, including sufficiently big quiet zones on either side.
It is always a good idea to check your barcode before sending it to us. You could look at it under a magnifying glass to see if any of the bar lines are fuzzy. If at all possible, it is a good idea to test scan the barcode yourself with a handheld scanner before sending it to us. The chances are that if it doesn’t scan well with your scanner, it won’t pass a verification report.

Buy Customised QR Codes
Although easily recognisable, standard QR codes can be an ugly part of product labelling or your design. We can make your QR code with colour and logos to better match your brand image.
If you have a good designer, they can modify the QR codes for you. However, this is often expensive, and sometimes, they can inadvertently damage the actual QR code so that it won’t scan.
We have dedicated designers that can provide custom QR code designs for you.
This product includes;
- a static or dynamic QR code (see below for the difference between static and dynamic)
- QR code images design in 3 formats (png, svg and pdf)
In the comments box on the checkout page, tell us about your company’s brand and how you will be using the QR code. Let us know the colours you want. Email us your logo as a png or jpeg file. Then our designers can create a custom QR code for you.

The changes we can make to a QR code are limited, as the overriding aim is to maintain its ability to be scanned. We can introduce two colours (with gradients), add a custom logo to the centre, and alter the QR code’s foreground elements.

These use our Dynamic QR Code service, which enables the target URL to be changed repeatedly in the future if required.Unlimited scans: Scans of the Dynamic QR Code are UNLIMITED so long as you don’t abuse the QR code with millions of scans that cause technical problems such as crashed servers. Functions for life: It will function for two years. If you still need it after two years, you can extend it for a hosting fee for another two years.
FREE unlimited redirection of the target URL: You can redirect the target URL as often as you want via our customer portal.
Lifetime tracking: You can purchase unlimited lifetime TRACKING REPORTS for a one-time fee. One purchase covers unlimited codes.
STATIC QR Codes
Encode your URL directly in the QR code permanently. Static QR codes can also encode text, v business cards, or send email, WhatsApp, or SMS messages.Unlimited scans: unlimited scans to the URL you encode at the time of order.
Functions for life: static QR codes will work as long as your website URL doesn’t change.
NO redirection is possible: Static QR codes can’t be changed as the URL is encoded directly in the QR Code.

ITF-14 Carton Barcode images
Here you can purchase ITF-14 images (which go on the outer delivery cartons containing your retail products). These will be emailed through to you in a standard size with 3 formats (Jpeg, PDF, png & SVG) once your order has been received.
If you have purchased EAN13 barcode numbers as well or supplied EAN13 numbers at the time of purchase, our automation system has created your ITF-14 carton barcode(s), and they will be part of this email.
If the system hasn’t worked, or we need to create the images for you manually, we will email them to you within the next 1-12 hours (this depends a little on the time of day of your order & the fact that our offices are in New Zealand). Please check your junk mail box also if needed.
Please ensure that you have supplied us with either the ITF-14 number(s) or the EAN-13 or UPC numbers that you want us to create the ITF-14 codes for.
If we are creating an ITF-14 barcode based on your EAN13 barcode number, we normally add 1 to the front of the EAN13 number and then recalculate the last digit checksum.

ITF-14 Carton Barcodes
ITF-14 (TUN) Image for the outside of a carton containing a quantity of your retail product – based on your EAN-13 retail barcode number. Images emailed to you in 3 formats (.pdf, .svg, .png).
You will be asked to enter your EAN-13 barcode number on the checkout page (if you are purchasing an EAN-13 barcode at the same time as an ITF-14 barcode, then just type “N/A” because we will assign an EAN-13 barcode number to you, and then use that number to create your ITF-14 barcode images)
